Lindsey* lived at Lester Paul’s Place, a step-down transitional housing program, for eight months, facing many challenges along the way.
One day during a conversation with her case manager, Lindsey was told how intelligent she was and how capable she was of achieving anything she set her mind to.
“No one has ever told me I was smart before,” Lindsey said in surprise.
This moment was a turning point for her. Presently, Lindsey is living in an apartment and, according to her Peer Support Specialist, she is doing well and is managing her money responsibly.
In a recent conversation, the joy in her voice was clear as she shared that she is maintaining her sobriety.
