Eviction Prevention and Housing Stabilization Services

Rental Assistance Voucher Processing


Kim Wilson Housing, Inc. (KWH)  is a rental assistance processing center for two contractors. In 2015, KWH processed 164 rental assistance applications on behalf of these contractors.
  • Shelter Plus Care Vouchers/Rental Assistance Program: The Missouri Department of Mental Health contracts with KWH to process 153 vouchers for communities in the Kansas City, Missouri area. For more information, contact Shevella Gatson at gatson_s@wmhci.org
  • Tenant-Based Rental Assistance (TBRA): Kim Wilson Housing processes 11 TBRA vouchers on behalf of Wyandot Center, who received the TBRA grant from Kansas Housing Resources Corporation. The KWH/Wyandot Center's TBRA program is for Wyandotte County residents.   • Supported Housing Funds (SHF): Kim Wilson Housing, Inc.  is the administrator for the Kansas Department  for Aging and Disability Services' Supported Housing Fund program. SHFs are available to publicly funded providers of mental health services and substance use treatment and services to assist their consumers to obtain or maintain housing in the community.   For more information, contact Missy Zink-Martin at zink-martin_m@wmhci.org.

Housing Quality Standard Inspections


Kim Wilson Housing, Inc. has a certified housing quality standard inspector on staff. KWH conducts Housing Quality Standard inspections for agencies in Kansas and Missouri.

Mediation Services


Jana Loflin, director of eviction prevention and housing stabilization services, is a certified mediator specializing in resolving tenant-landlord disputes. Mediation is statutorily defined as "the intervention into a dispute by a third party who has no decision making authority and is impartial to the issues being discussed" (K.S.A. 50503 (f)). Examples of Kim Wilson Housing mediated disputes includes disturbances and problems between neighbors, tenant use of utilities, failure to pay rent or disputes or disagreements between landlords and tenants.

Jana has performed or currently performs mediation services for the Kansas City, Kansas Housing Authority, Wyandot Center, PACES, reStart and for private landlords in the Kansas City area.
